Oh no you di'int!

Nothing gives me a greater headache than those who jump, unnecessarily, at the chance to step up onto the soapbox & voice their views & arguments towards something that didn't call for an opinion or debate to begin with.

Well, that & too much cheap wine.

I digress.

Someone I don't know personally (who clearly, in turn, doesn't know me personally) decided to be offended by the mention of the PDA'ing lesbians in my last post. Either they did a fantastic job at misreading my blurb, or they just wanted to hear themselves speak. I'm going to go with the latter.

Regardless, if I did offend anyone, I apologize. Anyone who knows me knows I'm not prejudice against.. anything! The problem seems to be that I am so far from prejudice & so far from looking at different sexual preferences or races in a negative manner that I don't think to walk on eggshells when speaking about them. Why would I? They're like anyone else to me. I'm comfortable enough to joke around about them, myself, my peers.. to me there is no difference. We're all human, & if we can't have a sense of humour then we're going to lead very disappointing, miserable lives.

It chaps my ass - the people out there who aren't either sexual preference or race in question, but are so into themselves & their high & mighty opinions in regards to equal rights & anti-prejudice movements that they, without noticing, treat these people differently! It's quite evident that these people are simply thriving to stand for something without knowing the time & place to stand for it; some people just like to hear themselves talk. It's so painfully obvious. People like that, who wave the victim card around for others just for the sake of making a stance, piss me off more than those who have a slight opinion against them.

People have fought to be looked at equally in this world, & to me, they deserve equality in each & every aspect.

We can all vote.
We can all have freedom of speech.
We can all work.
We can all display public affection, but if we all don't like it, why can't we all make a comment about it? You make it other people's business when you do it in public.

Would this conversation seem more appropriate?

"Look at those two, that's disgusting, get a room."
"You shouldn't say that."
"Why not?"
"Because their gay."

Who's the real ignoramus?
